My background is in music composition and hold a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. I have been audio engineering since 2008 and co-founded the Sonic Alchemists, LLC with Michael Duffy while living in Minneapolis. I have worked with classical ensembles and musicians, free jazz musicians, noise and experimental artists, indie rockers, and electro pop bands. I co-founded and curated the experimental music venue Room Zero in Minneapolis and did live sound reinforcement. I was the Music Programmer and A/V Manager at an art house theatre and music hall called the Doris Duke Theatre at the Honolulu Museum of Art, where I programmed and engineered live sound for artists like Colin Stetson, the John Jorgenson Quinetet and House of Wolves. I have produced music festivals and concert series like the Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Arts, the Secret Sound Showcase featuring indie/underground music, and ArtsMosis, an interdisciplinary art and music festival.
I have been a filmmaker since 2007 and won a Gold Remi Award at the Houston International Film Festival. I have had my films show in the Bearded Child Film Festival and have had my soundtrack work premiered at the Hawaii International Film Festival. I have taught film and video for 2 years at the University of Minnesota and at Bramson ORT College in Queens. I have produced and edited video for classical musicians and ensembles like the Contemporary Music Workshop, Dal Niente and Irvine Arditti.
I currently reside in Brooklyn, NY and work as a composer, audio engineer, video editor and educator.
